So I've read so many threads about shock options for my 100 series, and just wanted to verify that understood the consensus. My Cruiser is running 285s on stock wheels and stock suspension that I'm needing to overhaul due to a weeping front shock, worn lower ball joints etc. I'd be okay with a bit firmer set up but I don't think my wife would so I gathered that buying all new OEM shocks is the best option for a truck running stock bumpers and rarely loaded heavily?? Are there any opinions on the TJM Gold series I have found for 50% off at some retailers? I will be updating the skid plates at some point due to some tears and added protection but for the immediate future that will probably be it.

That seems to be what I hear from most people, but I might be a little biased. Let me know if you need prices on any factory parts.

Mine's the same - stock but with 285s. I went with OEM Toyota shocks. Later when I've got a heavy armored-up pig that's not the wife's DD, I'll consider some of the more expensive options. I got mine from Beno.

BTW if you have them, drive the rear up onto car ramps so you can sit up underneath when doing the rear shocks. Helped tremendously.

My wife didn't like the way it rode after the tires, I really want to lift it at least an inch but have no plans for heavy bumpers at this time.

I've been looking around online, and even called one of the local Dealers in hopes they would have them in stock. Looks like the prices are anywhere from $33 to $49 for fronts and a couple dollars more for rear. The highest price being my local dealership that was about 3 times more for OE O2 sensors than Autozone.

PM me and I'll see what I can do for ya
