I can't believe it's taken me so long to be able to post this,

2 weeks ago we lost our German Shepherd x Rottweiler, Zeus, to penis cancer... :crybaby:

almost a year to the day to when we lost our malamute to bone cancer too...

Zeus had a good innings, we adopted him at 9 when his family moved to iraq. at age 13, we noticed that his bladder was dripping when he walked. up until this point he was 100% healthy, consistently outrunning 2 year old boarder collies at the dog park. age didn't seem to slow him down. took him in to the vet, and a long story short, a small tumour was in his urethra. it was removed, but in the 4 days it took to get the biopsy results back, it had returned, twice the size of the original, and several other tumours were present up to his bladder.

we made the hardest call, to send him to rainbow bridge...

He was one of those dogs that just feels like he'll always be there. even now when i get home from work i half expect him to greet me at the door to make the day brighter. He took a special shining to the :princess:, and he was the dog that taught her about that special, unconditional bond that the really special dogs in our lives share with us. even at the age of 13, i would have pittied any person that threatened her in his presence...

So Zeus, our mate, our protector, till we we meet on the other side, our lives will feel that little bit more empty without you, but have been infinitely better for having shared this time.

sorry pal, I feel you. We spent last night at the vet after our cat was hit by a car. He didn't make it. Only a year and a half old.

Time makes it better, I know you know this. My Cruiserdog is gone 9 months now.

Sorry to hear this brother. He was well loved while he was here though.

i understand fully.. i lost my Grace 2 years ago and i'm still not over it. :frown: i had her for 14 years.. it hard to lose your best pal of that long. i'm sorry for your loss.

im sorry to hear BRAU. my condolences.

I don't know what I'd do if my dog passed away. never had such good buddy in my life before

:frown:

 to the good times!

:frown: Sorry about your loss ...

Good for you on taking him in. He looks like a happy pup in those pics. My condolences...w/out fail, he will be waiting for you when the good Lord calls you home. In the meantime, I hope time heals the void left behind.

Sorry to read about your loss...

Are you dog-less now?

nup, we've got a 3 year old Malamute we rescued christmas last year.

she's taking this harder than us.

Sorry man. That's a handsome dog, and I know how you feel. It took me about that long to post after I lost Gracie in July, but like folks have said, it gets better with time. Hang on to the good times and take care of the 'mute, it's the best thing to do.

Sorry to hear man. Looks like he was a great dog to spend time with.

Bad luck mate, nice shepherd,he looks real happy to have had a good home.
We lost our shepherd about 2 yrs back, suddenly to cancer,10 yrs old.
No wonder they are such a popular breed, they are great dogs.

man... sorry for your loss. we lost our oldest Malamute, Titus 2 years ago, he threw a clot in recovery from surgery, and we still have rough times. it gets easier, but as we all seem to be able to attest, they will always have a special place in our hearts. our other Mal is getting up there in age, and i cant even imagine what a wreck i'll be when we lose her. My heart goes out to you.

that is how it was here last dec. going on a year, i had to put one of our labs down long story but his brother for about 2 weeks set behind our suburban that was the truck i took him to the vets in. even though he knew we took him out and into the back yard he would set at the back doors waiting for us to open the doors so his brother could get out. and he has changed he seems much sadder now even though this spring the:princess: went and got another black lab puppy. and had i forgotten about the puppy stage, he ate our phone yesterday. his nickname went from s*** head to dingaling.
