almost a year to the day to when we lost our malamute to bone cancer too...
Zeus had a good innings, we adopted him at 9 when his family moved to iraq. at age 13, we noticed that his bladder was dripping when he walked. up until this point he was 100% healthy, consistently outrunning 2 year old boarder collies at the dog park. age didn't seem to slow him down. took him in to the vet, and a long story short, a small tumour was in his urethra. it was removed, but in the 4 days it took to get the biopsy results back, it had returned, twice the size of the original, and several other tumours were present up to his bladder.

, and he was the dog that taught her about that special, unconditional bond that the really special dogs in our lives share with us. even at the age of 13, i would have pittied any person that threatened her in his presence...
