I have searched this site and lots of others and I still can't get my RSES working. it hasn't worked since I bought it 4 months ago (2005 non-Nav). I have the correct remote and I put an Energizer battery in (tested 3.04 volts). The DVD player turns on, accepts and ejects the DVD's like it should. The screen is in the ceiling and it does nothing. I went into the diagnostic mode by holding buttons 1 and 6 while pushing the disc button and it didn't power up. The manual says to check the connections but I don't know how to remove the screen from the ceiling to check the plugs. This truck has had the dash replaced and I wonder if they failed to plug something in or if a fuse blew. Any help is appreciated as we are planning a few road trips in the coming months.

Thank you, yes I had it from another thread. When I enter the diagnostic mode, it just shows all possible characters on the radio:

Interestingly, when I push the Track buttons, it scrolls through "P190", "Good", "P440", "Good", "NOSF", repeat. any idea what this is?

I wish I could help further, but I don't really know much besides what I've read in the manual. I originally read it because the truck I picked up this past weekend was advertised as having a non-functioning DVD player and I thought maybe I could figure out how to fix it. However, when I picked it up, I saw the reason why it stopped working is because a ton of sugared coffee was spilled in the center console creating a big sticky mess.

Good luck.

So, the DVD player is not an espresso machine?

If someone can tell me how to remove the screen from the ceiling that would be a good start. I am always scared to start pulling on plastic bits as I often break them :zilla:

I figured out how to remove the trim from around the screen. There are 2 tabs in the rear corners that I pushed in with a small thin flat screw driver and pulled down slightly and it came down just fine. Now I will check the pins for voltage and resistance.

I did the phone camera trick to see if the remote is transmitting and it doesn't seem to be. I guess I will start there before tearing into things.
