97 Taco, replaced the pressure line that was leaking only to find the seal/o-ring where the steering shaft bolts onto the R&P is/are now leaking. This rack was installed a few years ago and is just junk so I may just replace it. Looks fairly straight forward, is it and is it really necessary to remove the steering wheel to do this as per the manual?

I don't think so. You just need to tie it off so that it doesn't move, and then make every effort to line everything up on the install like it was before with the old R&P.

I did see that one last night, later generation 4runner so there were a few differences but pretty similiar. Looks fairly easy, just the cost that sucks.
