An intermittent front-end noise started 2 weeks ago and is becoming more frequent. The noise sounds almost like a bumblebee and I believe it is coming from the front drivers side; closer to the center of the vehicle than the outside edge. Here is a crappy recording of the noise; heard most prominently around seconds 18-22. http://s63.photobucket.com/user/bcm5/media/IMG_0107_zps845a0b4f.mp4.html

The noise:
- Occurs going forward at low speeds under light acceleration
- Does not occur in reverse
- Does not occur when braking or turning tightly
- Cannot be heard above 35mph or so

I replaced the CVs about 4k miles ago, I recently lubed the drive shafts (all 6 points), and the diff fluid is full and clean. I have inspected everything for rubbing and see no indication of any contact points.

I am at a loss on how to proceed with diagnosing/resolving the issue.

Any thoughts will be appreciated!

It sounds like a vibrating catalytic converter heat shield.

I spent some more time trying to diagnosis and resolve this issue yesterday. I applied brake quiet to the back of the pads, inspected the CV boots, and verified the sway bar mounts and end links were secure.

Still no luck in resolving the issue.

The noise has almost a finger nails on caulk board tone and sounds like something rubbing against hard plastic.

I think I may try replacing the sway bar bushings even though they look okay.

Any other ideas?
