For anyone wondering I went back and tried again after driving 100 miles as an attempt to baseline the ECU after unplugging the battery, im not great at deciphering the paper as its more confusing than Colorados but from what I can tell the levels reduced.. just bought denatured alcohol and then back to test I go in about an hour. Hopefully this "repair" brings her home. Here is yesterdays test VS todays if anyone has any insight or interest in seeing the levels change over 100 miles.

Drum roll........

The suspense is killing me.
better not hold your breath, decided to wait till tomorrow for another test.

Incase anyones curious the emissions hotline will not openly tell you whether or not theres a testing limit per day..

As recommended and after a phone conversation with Tools R Us I threw in 1 gallon and 1qt of denatured alcohol to a little over a quarter tank this morning, Ran for about 35 min and showed back up to the emissions place. After the 3rd degree from everyone whose seen me there this week I left with a Pass. Thanks everyone for the recommendations and help! Only 364 days till I get to do this again!

edit: spelling is hard.

Congrats on passing. How about posting up the 'pass' numbers so we can compare after the 'repairs'...

cheers,
george.

Alcohol is good, get you some! :hillbilly:

I didnt take a photo of the pass paperwork before handing it over for my plates but I can say that my final reading for HC and CO were as Follows:

Hydrocarbons (HC) IN PPM: Final Reading 118 (Passing Standard is 220)

Carbon Monoxide (CO) IN % Final Reading .50 (Passing Standard is 1.20)

compare these with the above picture of my first two and youll see a massive drop.

... see a massive drop.

Yep, clean burning stuff! That is why it's run locally in the winter, helps big time with the air inversion brown cloud.

Congrats! I'm about to head to the smog scammers here in California...new to me truck with a new motor. I may just add the denatured alcohol as it's been proven. Our system here in California tracks all your attempts and is apart of the record for your vehicle and the cost for a test is typically about $40+ but you do get one free retest.
