A friend emailed me yesterday asking if that was my old fj 45 on ebay. I looked and it's the one that got away from me last spring. I don't really want it back, but if I did, I'd have to wonder what I would be paying for his professionally done frame off restoration. Last spring I sold it for 20,000.00 in 3 hours on this site and now it's at a bit over 22 grand. I am the one that did the 2f and 4 speed to the arizona derelect.

Same thing happen to me a year ago, they claimed
(not the same guy)it was a 75k resto and used all my words in the ad.They tried to sell it for 40k in the beginning and it didnt sell for a while, finally sold it in the 20's and it popped up on ebay again and didnt get past 15k? Your truck started at 55k!! they painted it!! Does not show one picture of the frame off restored chassis?? Shady seller in my book. Mine was semi repainted and thats it! tried to sell for double what they paid me! thought about buying it back, but not for a 20k half ass paint increase!

think it ended at 33K

I would agree with the comments about the current seller

seems he could not be bothered to hook up the horn.....

He seemed like nice guy and he was fair with me all the way through. He has some other collectable cars that are really amazing and look like a real dream to drive. Ford GT for example. My guess is he didn't intend to flip, he just hadn't ever driven an fj 45 before and may have become disenchanted with things like quality of ride etc and decided to sell before he got any deeper into the restoration. These things ARE an 'acquired taste' after all. :) I still have my '79 fj 55 that I bought in '84, my '85 fj 60 and my thousand dollar bj 60, so you haven't seen the last of me......

Yup, that's the 55 I still have. Only now it's the one covered in pollen and fir needles. It still has the split rims I bought in Canada, but there's chains on all 4 corners year 'round. I drilled and tapped those splits and installed hubcap clips so it could have caps like the UK version fj 45 pickup in the first 5 pages of the Haynes Manual. Even with a weak battery and sitting a year, the 55 almost always starts. We use it pretty much for getting up and down the mountain when it snows, so we don't have to install and remove chains on out DD 4wds. It has 198000 miles, 120000 of which I put on. Not licensed since 2002 or so......The body is rough, but my welding skills are improving, so ya just never know.
