Another AC question (expansion valve) -- Update!

How difficult is it change out the expansion valve? What is the aproximate cost? My wagon is an 1983 fj60...

I decided to tear into the evap. to look for the exp. valve. It was'nt too difficult to remove. 25 years of junk. I will clean it up and see if a local AC shop can change out the low side fitting, it is messed up and I would hate for it to leak once everything is back in. Paid $30 for exp. valve at Autozone.

You can see some of the junk in the vent and the output side of the coil. You can also see what impatience does sometimes.
