Finally got my mom fully converted to the TEQ. She bought a 2007 4Runner 6 months ago and picked up a 1999 LX 470 today. Honda lady no more! I've been looking for the right one for a couple months.

1999 LX 470 River Rock Green Mica (Gray with hint of green), 140k miles. I really like the color.

The good:
-It had pretty good dealer history and had all the common failures/maint fixed already (starter, CVs, ignition, power steering rack, timing belt, 30k services etc).
-New toyo open country tires (a little louder than the michelins on mine).
-Only a few dents & scratches on the body, paint is in great shape. No rust.
-AHC system works and feels better than my 1998 over small bumps.

The bad:
-Whoever owned it before used the entire interior of the vehicle and probably didn't clean it regularly, the leather shows it.
-The interior was a little beat, but had panels replaced in the driver seat bottom. Going to need to have front armrest leather replaced.
-Seat belts are a little dingy and don't retract great. Will try to clean and see how it goes.
-There's a car phone in the console. Might be a good, I entertained mom the whole way back acting like I was a swearing 1999 stock broker. Going to push to keep it.
-Roof rack needs to be painted.
-Front grill needs to be replaced/repaired
-Lumbar is inop
-Third row seats are missing
-Claddings are a little beat. Might have those refinished, if can be done on the car.
-Needs floor mats & grommets/hooks
-Driver corner lens is busted. But I think bumper was repainted, not sure why the light wasn't fixed.

Not a bad deal under $12k considering all the big stuff has been addressed. I looked at one the other day that was similar and asking was $14k, the inside and out was excellent... But had about $5k in maintenance and repairs that I could see from walking around it. I wanted her to hold out for an immaculate one that had been dealer kept at the right price, but the market has been sparse lately. This one will probably stay stock... I might have to use mine or this one for a donor rig someday.

Fixed up some things on this vehicle, some still remains.

-Driver corner lamp assembly (harder than I thought to pull out)
-Battery tie down (was rusted, I had an extra since my 100 has a slee battery kit)
-Head lamp bulb
-Brake bulb. Someone hacked into the rear harness for the trailer lights. Presumably when the taillight converter failed. Guess I'll let it be until it becomes an issue.
-Position indicator bulb in the gear shifter display on the center console
-Tailgate leashes
-AC recharged
-New floor mats, grommets, & hooks.
-Removed driver seat to clean CRUD between seat & console

The only things left to do on this one are to have the recently replace windshield taken out and properly replaced, some cosmetic things on the exterior and the interior, and minor maintenance. Pretty amazing what you can pay for these plus a little refurb. Way better than sinking $20k on a new Mazda.

Looks like a good find and well on your way to getting it fixed up. Let us know when convinced of lift and bumpers :steer:.

Lol, I could tell my almost 60 year old mother the bumpers might make it closer to the ground and easier to get in. She might go for that. This one will be a good example of an on-road cruiser 10 yrs from now.
