I have been looking for a small battery bank to keep my fridge running overnight while car camping. Saw this Anker product and seems like it may be a great solution. It has 288Wh so should be able to power the fridge for 2 nights depending on how often the compressor runs. Recharge during the day while driving or using solar panels.

I was originally looking at the version with a 300W inverter and a few AC outlets (and AC charging), but this DC only version may work just fine with the separate car charging cable using the vehicles 12V cig lighter plug, or at home using USB-C PD.

Anyone have any first-hand experience with this?

It is on sale at Costco for $110 which seems like a great deal.

Charging via the 12VDC power point might be disappointingly slow. Do they publish specs on recharge times?

A friend was just looking something similar for the same use, and it's a better deal to charge it thru an inverter. It was just that, in his case, the purchase and wiring of an inverter large enough to give him the max 120VAC charging rate was not an insignificant investment.

2 nights without recharging seems optimistic to me for many fridges with 288Wh storage, unless it's pretty cold.

^ It's not fast, but it's also only 288Wh, so a cig plug -typically giving around 10A- would take about 2 or 3 hrs, I would guess.

I have a 1500 Wh power bank, overnight with night time temps below 15C and down to 5C uses 15-20% of the charge, that is 225Wh - 300Wh with the frig set at 5C. Recharging via the cigarette lighter is going to do a little but not much. While rated at 12V @10amp that is not continuous. More like 6amp continuous. I have 200w solar panels. Unless you are actively moving the panels so to optimize figure half that output during the day.
