an idea for a different kind of soft top?

hmm...almost like a super simplified version of what i was thinking. Curious to see what this looks like installed.

just put a sliding ragtop on it 46" X 48" Two Fold Sliding Rag Top ,VW Bus 67-Earlier Curve or Sunroof

i used to be a jeep guy and used to REALLY want a cherokee i read everything i could find about them. that being said a fairly popular mod was to cut the roof out (leaving the structurally supporting sides) and make a piece of canvas that would snap to channel that would be welded all around the cut out area and the canvas would use buttons to snap onto the channel. looks pretty cool alot like the VW pic... but less high tech no folding just removal.... go for it! let us know how it works!

na, that's ok. I'd rather ignite thermite in my crotch than add a vw style top to the cruiser.
I was looking for hot rod style...not a dirty hippie bus.
