The guy who bought my 2001 Tundra replaced the head unit with something aftermarket. He also installed a two hundred watt amp. He offered to give me the head unit but said they he didn't get the amp. So does anyone know where it is in the truck? I thinking around the glove box. It 's a 4X4 limited if that helps.

Thanks, John

I don't know about Tundra's specifically, but in my Tacoma the amp is behind the back seat.

I doubt it's back there. I know it's under the passenger's seat in the 100 series and to the right of the glove box in the 80 series. I did buy a head unit and amp from a 2000 Tundra on Ebay years ago and the connection between the head unit and amp was pretty short. So I thinking it got to be close to the head unit. It' no longer my vehicle so I really what to know where it is before I start to pull it out. Plus I'm not even sure it's still there. He didn't install it he had a shop do it.

If its not under the seats its probably behind the dash somewhere. More than likely around the glove box or on the firewall behind the head unit.

I figure it's close. I picked up a single CD head unit and amp from a 2000 Tundra years ago on Ebay. The connector from the amp to the head unit is pretty short. I just haven't own this Tundra for a few years and really don't feel the guy is going to let me start tearing it apart to try and find it. Would be a whole lot easier to say it right here I and I just need to pull this to get it or be able to look some how to see if it's even there anymore. He didn't install his new unit so he's not even sure it's still there. I own FSMs for alll the Land Cruisers I own just never bothered to get one for the Tundra. I know it's got to be in teh FSM.

Bump
