Amost Stuck When 2008 GX470 Wouldnt Start (1 Viewer)

Hi to Everyone!!

Randomly, the the car only flashed dash lighs and CLICKED and CLACKED like the battery was dead and the vehicle wouldnt start. After a quick jump it started right up. However, the battery seems to be OK. So what gives? Why the clicking like dead battery then?

kinda sounds like something drained your battery prior to the start attempt. If it happens again try to get a battery voltage before you jumpstart the car. Voltmeters are super cheap and incredibly handy.

If the battery checks out, it's 99% likely to be the starter. They are known to go out on these rigs and exhibit that same behavior. Usually they will start after some amount of clicking, then it will get worse and worse before it won't start at all. It's kind of a bear to replace on a VVTI rig since you have to pull the intake manifold off and mess with the SAIS system which gets in the way. A reman Denso starter is only around $100 on RockAuto though.
