I have a custom built two door long bed truck on a 100 series Chasis an Amazon (VNT Turbo) 1hdfte with a 5 forward gearbox. I have extend 100 series Chasis by 4 feet to increase wheelbase.
I Need advice on two issues, if you gents can kindly spare some time to read this thread post.
The first one is regarding my front suspension setup.
It is equipped with a 2.5 kings coilovers, total chaos UCAs. One interesting thing is I did custom fabrication to get a much beefy LACs from California. This lower arm is stronger then stock 100 series and even 200 series lower arm. It is designed like a 200 series LACs for coilovers setup as compared to 100’s torsion bar setup. In other words I have a torsion delete at the front end. It has literally transformed the ride. The only thing missing in the kit is a front sway bar (In the rear I’m using stock 100’s sway bar)
Due to missing S bar at the front end in off camber and other bad road conditions at highway speeds the front end tend to loose grip in 140 and plus KMs which is not good at all…
I’m planning to install a 200 series front S bar with Z links. With my 100 series chasis the brackets for the Sway bar can be easily bolted by drilling the chasis, however, for the Z links I have to do fabrication with my truck’s LACs as there are no brackets in the LACs to connect Z links with. If you have any opinion, pl guide whether I should go for such fabrication and what precautions need to be taken…!?
My second issue is with my Amazon version of motor, have swapped my motor with an Amazon VNT turbo 1hd-fte and 5 forward gearbox setup. I have ordered PDI inter and transcooler kit for more performance add ons like bigger turbos, injectors bla bla, friends have suggested to swap my Amazon ECU with an Aussie ECU as it won’t work with the performance upgrades. Even some friends suggest that with ECU change, probably I will be needing a complete wire harness change as well to work Aussie turbos and injectors in it. They say Amazon wiring an ECU is pretty complicated and confusing. I’m just wondering aren’t people in Europe and the UK upgrading their Amazons …! What they do !? Do they change their ECU’s and Harnesses!?
Can you Gents and Gurus guide what to do and how to go abt it….!
