Am I Missing Something?

I've had my 100 for a few months now and can't help but think some kind of plastic protective piece is missing in my wheel well area just behind the front bumper.

Below is a picture of the inside of my front passenger side wheel well with the wheel cranked all the way to the right. It seems like I'm missing something that would cover the fog light assembly and surrounding area. However, I haven't found another 100 to compare, nor have I found any helpful pics online.

Thoughts?

Nope mine is the same way. I thought the same when I first got mine. Was used to lots of plastic bits from owning Sequoias for 10 years.

The Land Cruisers have a different engineering approach from other vehicles. They are designed and built heavy, durable, and without all those flimsy crap parts that would just fall off after a while.

Most of the underside is open to drain water, mud and dry out so no hidden areas to rust and rot out. Also, open for easy repair and maintenance.

I appreciate the Japanese for their approach to the Land Cruiser.

I thought I was nuts thinking a piece belonged there. Now I know I'm sane. Well some would say the jury is still out on that

I figured the previous owner had front end damage/repair. Good to know it's supposed to be like that!

That was my worry, too. In fact, I'm having the front bumper cover replaced next week because of some heavy scrapes on the passenger side corner. The body shop rep brought it up and offered to look up part numbers for the "missing pieces," as she thought it looked strange, too. That's when I decided to post here. It still looks odd to me...
