I don't drive my '99 LC often but yesterday got in to start it and drive it a little and the battery was dead. Got the truck running but the alternator was only putting out about 12.5V and the AC wasn't working. Took the truck to interstate battery just to have them check the battery they told me the battery was fine but that the alternator wasn't charging and that that caused the ac to not work. Has anyone ever heard of this and if so is that my problem or it there something else I should be looking at (mice eating wires, etc.)?

check your fan belt
if you don't have sufficient voltage the clutch for the AC won't pull in....check the alternator
