Checking at the battery there appears to be no juice coming from the alternator.

So, if the alternator was good but the fusible link between the alternator and the battery was bad, that would be a symptom, correct?

Would the car run and crank if there was sufficient juice in the battery but this fusible link was bad? Is there a different fuse between the battery and the ignition. It looks like that in the owner's manual1981 - 1987 2F engine Repair manual Fig 9-3 & 4 charging system circuit FJ60 series from how it looks to me.

As I have gotten older I am suffering from 'symptoms' myself. :crybaby:

Depends on where you checked the alt output. If checked at the alt lug, you should see 13.6=+/-

You can test the fuseible link with an ohm meter.

Could be broken wire, fusible link, bad alt

Originally, output was checked at the battery. I had taken the car to an auto electric place a couple of weeks ago and he told me my problem was a bad cable connector that would not stay tight. I got a new battery cable. I don't quite trust the guy now since the same problem again after driving the car for four short errands.

What I am trying to be sure of is whether or not if the fusible link was bad between the alternator and the battery, if the car would run and it might not be a bad alternator like he told me this time. This is my daily driver and cDan told me Toyota is not supplying this alternator new OEM OR rebuilt anymore.
 
I am going to have to stand over the shoulder of the auto electric guy's shoulder since I can't have this thing going to the shop every month as replacement parts become unobtainium. I am looking at a Bosch replacement alternator and I am not so wild about that.

Brake guy tried to sell me disc rotors from China. Managed to get OEM.
 
Just to follow up on what @doug720 suggests, here is some material that might help you understand how to test whether the fusible links are good/bad.

To test, with engine off, simply unplug the fusible link connnector on the far side (so, on the non-battery side) and probe each of the 3 fusible link terminals (see very bottom of last picture below) with a voltmeter (the black (-) lead from the voltmeter should be grounded - to frame or chassis- and probe with the red(+) lead).
If the fusible links are good, current will flow from the battery, through each of the links (i.e. there is continuity), through the voltmeter and to ground...so you should read the charge of the battery (12V+ if fully charged).
If the voltmeter reads 0V at one or more of the fusible link terminals, then that fusible link is blown (i.e. there is no continuity through the fuse) and will need to be replaced.

What volts do you measure at each of the fusible links?
