Alternator - any difference between auto parts stores?

I'll I'll be honest. I have spent the last 17 years at a very busy sf bay Toyota dealership. I can count on one hand how many of our alternators have had a failure. Yes they do cost more but are still a better choice. One thing to keep in mind. A week old Toyota has an alternator fail. A reman would be out in to replace it. It still has to be covered for the 5/60 warranty. If our defect rate was near as bad as other places toyota would change it. To many returns can turn into a buyback car!
