I know some of you may be planning on attending GSMTR (as am I), but I wanted to let you all know of another Toyota-specific trail ride that is coming up in June, the East Coast 4Runner Jamboree. Apologies for the late notice, but the organizers just settled on a final date for the event. It will be held the weekend of June 5th-7th at Rausch Creek Offroad Park in Tremont, PA.

The EC4RJ was first held in the GW National Forest outside Harrisonburg, VA in 2001 and was organized by Joe Micciche and myself, with the help of a few others. The event grew and was eventually moved to Paragon, in PA. After Paragon closed, the event was moved just up the road to Rausch Creek Offroad Park, where it has been held the last couple years.

This is a very informal event. There is no registration. Just show up at Rausch Creek, pay your trail fees, and wheel. We will be camping at Rausch Creek. Turnout for the event is usually between 20-40 trucks, depending on the year. It's always a fun time, and the trails are awesome, with everything from mild to extreme.

I will be leaving the Triangle area sometime Thursday morning, June 4th and driving up so that I can wheel Friday and Saturday, then drive home on Sunday.

If anyone is interested in going, let me know and we'll try and organize a caravan from this area, since it's a long drive to make solo.

Here is an article, written by Jay Kopycinski that appeared in Four Wheeler Magazine about the 2005 event:

By my calculations, it is approximately 430 miles there, and with 768 hours alloted for the trip, you will be traveling 0.56 MPH. I know gas prices are creeping up, but the law of diminishing returns I think would be realized around 20MPH. :)

Just kiddin' ya' Allen. Have fun, we are hosting a baby shower that weekend.

I have no idea what you're talkin' about Ramon. I've been at Rausch Creek for 10 days now. Can't wait to wheel in about 3 weeks when everybody else arrives. Sure is boring sitting around waiting....

Doh!!! :bang:
