Allen Oil Galley

I am replacing the blown 2F from my 81 FJ-60 with a 1985 2F. I removed the clucth, flywheel and bellhousing to replcae the rear main seal since the engine was out. When I removed the bellhousing, it looked like there was oil leaking from the allen plug. I am assumming that this is just a plug - hoping someone here could tell me.

Has anyone ever had one of these leak? It looks like it was sealed with black sealer when installed. I am not exactly sure if it was leaking or if the oil was trapped in that area and leaked when I removed the bellhousing.

I found nothing in my FSM about this thing. Can I pull it out - reseal it and put it back in without any problems?

That is the end of the oil galley that runs right through the motor, you can thread that out and reseal it. Teflon tape works well.
Seems odd that would be leaking.
