Here is part 1:

Well, I wrote it up and I can't paste it here. Not trying to get clicks, but figured I'd share.

Basically, we do a Death Valley trip every year for the last 9 or so. 2 FZJ80's, a 3rd gen 4runner, a 5th gen 4runner and my brother in a gawd damn F-150 that got high centered on everything....

Sidenote: I picked up my 1995 FZJ80 from Murf at Camelback Toyota after doing a complete rebuild. Boring, decking, bearings, valves, injectors, milled head... etc. The WHOLE enchilada. :-(
I promptly put 450 miles on the truck before, at lunch and after work in the day before we left and then changed the oil. Then we headed out for a 1500 mile offroad trip....

Pics since I can't figure out how to paste all of the pics and text here without an HTML paste option.

Dang-you found Salt Basin. That's good work. The bloom has to be gone by now. I was there a month ago and it was great!

There were some remnants of the bloom, but in a way we were glad to have it gone. Way too many people around.
This was a good trip of new and old spots for us. We even found a hidey hole that may have been Manson's. We were the first folks there since 2010 when Starbuck discovered it.

I missed out this year. Great writeup and photos.
