Ok my rough country rs12000s winch solenoid just got stuck and turned itself on last Sunday. Broke the line and bent my ironman bumper in. I'm going to fix all this with a kill switch and I want to change to a albright solenoid.
My winch has two traditional solenoids, a three pin controller and a wireless remote. Can I keep the wireless remote with this style solenoid? If so do you have any wiring information on doing this or links to where I might be able to find this info?
As for the cause, the control box had rust colored water in it, so my guess is it shorted out and turned itself on. The water wasn't from wheeling since I haven't been in any deep water. Rain water got in the box and sat. It was loud as hell when it snapped a farelead bolt and broke the line.

Thanks for the link I found what I needed to know about wireless hook-up on the pirate 4x4 site.
But I believe I'm going to change to the new gen2 smittybilt x20 12k comp winch instead.

Waterproof, wireless or wired remote, synthetic line, lifetime warranty, etc.
It was going to cost about $350 to do everything I wanted 65-110 for switch, 225 or so for new line, 60 or so for wiring disconnect.
I only gave 375 for the winch new.
