So I have a serious party interested in my white 60. Right now the offer stands at $500 and a 2WD Honda rancher '05, low miles ( I think), $1500 and AK47 or a really spendy AR-10 (.308 straight trade-nah) but I don't know what an AR-10 is supposed to look like, this one had a big scope, synth. stock, tripod, etc. I'm a 'noob to guns but was thinking my trade should be worth $2500 minimum cash value... I think these are chinese AK's but don't know for sure, but he has put on the sythet stocks and the red-dot sight on one, $600/$700 I tried to call Knoll and get his opinion..
I figure a two wheel drive quad in good condition might not sell quick in today's market if I was after cash.. I will probably hold out for a cash buyer.. Any opinions?

The $500 and quad sounds like the best deal, but I think you'll have trouble moving it if you're planning on selling it.

The guns will sell quick, though you may have to drop them lower than you want.

If it's a Chinese AK then they are not expensive at all. A guy I used to know offered to sell me 10 of them for $500 (and don't ask where they came from). :meh:

Don't buy any of the guns without having someone knowledgeable (like Knoll or a gunsmith) check 'em out, especially that AK.

Thats kinda funny. I ended up trading my 914 for a BM M4 last week. Knolly checked it out, but I still need to run it by IIRC Bradley's in GP (Knolly knows the place), He does appraisal and whatnot I guess.

Thanks, I wasn't going to jump on the guns w/out an expert opinion-
I agree that the quad wouldn't sell very quick if I tried to convert it to cash. If it was 4WD I would go for it. I would prefer a trade for a diesel truck or another cruiser...

Dick- how are thing at the store? Is this economy slowing things down or are people dragging out their treasures?

Kief
i bought a 2 wheel Honda a cpl years ago and did not like it
took 6 months to give it away for $200.00 :frown:

July is the real beginning of the tourist season and we seem to be having
a decent month. not great just decent :)

i also would hold out for a cash buyer

Kief sorry I didn't call ya back when I got your message, but I don't have your number :( As for what I woulda said Stever is right on line with my opionion. With the availability issue prices are a bit inflated on "assault rifles" now, but long run they won't stay up. I still think a gun is always a good investment (provided you get it for a fair price to begin with) if nothing else you have a tool. However even with the market the way it is Stever has appraised them fairly accurately. The AR-10 could have a higher value but it really depends on who made it i.e. Noveske, Cold, BM, ... Also the extras will have alot to do with what it is worth (an Eotech or AimPoint sight is around $500.00'ish)

:Edit:
The AR-10 could be worth what you are trying to get, it all depends on what it is. An AR-10 is an AR-15 that is chamberd for 7.62 (308) as apposed to 5.56 (223). It would be much like asking how much a bolt action 308 is worth....it all depends on what it is.
I hope this does help some, if you want to chat give me a call and let me know your number. We have family in town and are leaving for the Red Woods tomorrow am, but I can call back just not sure how promptly :grinpimp:

If you need a quad then I would say that is your best deal. The AK is your worste deal, not worth it. The AR10 MAY be worth it. They run $1,200-$3,000+ depending on mfg and equipment. If it was a major mfr factory gun with a Leupold MK V scope it would be easily $2k+. The problem is there are alot of franken guns out there right now. If you can get me more details about the AR I could give you a good idea of it's value.

It would be a good deer gun if you didn't have to pack it very far.:D

Yeah, all my deer shots have been at close range as in less than 200', I think buckshot or a slug would have been better than the .308 I borrowed from my brother-in-law. I'm teetering on the quad but would rather have the money. If I had a quad I think 4wd would be more usuable but with property a quad with a trailer would get used a lot (of course I wouldn't let any riders under 16 use it :b)
I don't need an assault weapon or a sniper rifle. Either if worth it would be for cash or trading stock but I would be better off letting him do the selling.

a 2wd utility quad is almost valueless. call carlson motorsports and ask the owner gary how much its worth if you want a second opinion but i wouldnt bother trding for if if your just going to try an sell it for cash. it'll take forever and you wont get much for it.

Thanks guys. I've passed on a no-thanks. I'll just keep tinkering on the '60 until I find a buyer or the right trade.

I've seen 2WD quads as low as 1200 bucks for a 2000+ model.
