I was wondering what happens if you do not replace airbag once deflated. I am driving a LC 1998 petrol driven and I am at the highlands of Ethiopia some 3500 km above sea level, and believe me you don't find the replacement here. I heard that if not replaced timely it might shut down the controll system of the car after some kms. What do you know or where to get the right info? THANXS!

IMO there has to be a way to bypass the bag. I sure there’s a value (resistor) that the computer reads, and if you can find this value you could possible make a resistor and solder it in to fool the ECU.
The airbag system might not function until all systems read “all go”.
Good luck.

Blown airbag would not stop the truck from running if everything else is safe and working. Unless yours is the latest US model that is designed by corporate lawyer.

When offroading for a couple of days in the dunes I usually disconnect the airbag (I simply remove the fuse). The airbag light stays turned on a bit longer after I start the car. Except for this the car never complained.
What is the other damage on the car? I guess the airbag didn't went off for nothing ;)

Regards
Samo
