So I'm working to get my truck to pass smog and am looking to replace the hoses in the air injection system.
Since they are no longer available from Toyota I've been trying to find a suitable replacement.
Now these are listed as not suitable for fuel or oil,
http://www.hiprospeed.com/HPS-7-8-Silicone-Hoses-Silicon-Hose-s/58.htm
and are only rated to 350F.
Does the system get hotter than that?
Any alternatives people have used?
Thank you,
nick

I think people have trouble with the hoses melting when either of the two exhaust check valves have failed, letting hot exhaust gas back flow into the system.

One is on the air injection rail. The other is on the down pipe after the header. They are still available from Toyota.

My check valves are ok, the hoses are dry and brittle, I'm afraid if I pull them off they'll crumble.

I was thinking of the check valves, Beno. Any of those left? It's been a year since I replaced mine.

What did you end up doing for the hose to the air rail? I need to replace mine it's split at the air rail and since it's not available I'm trying to figure out a replacement hose work around.

Thanks I will look in the HPS hose.
Was there a specific part number you ordered?

Part Numbers for black hose
1 foot HTST-087-BLK
3 foot HTST-3F-087-BLK
90 degree HTSEC90-087-BLK
Easy to cut to fit.

Perfect, thanks for the part numbers.

Soon I will be legal again and back on the road.

What about 57-1289-BLK? It's made specifically for the 4.5l
Anyone tried this?
