I'm a long-time 80 owner and I'm weighing fixing the 80 up versus jumping up to a 100. Looking at a 2007 at a dealer out of town, but not sure how to figure out if this truck (or any of the others I'm looking at) have the Auto Height Control. The ad says:
  • 4-link rear suspension w/semi-floating axle, coil springs
I'm pretty unclear on exactly how the AHC is different from the non-AHC suspension from all the ads. Confusion on my end, fueled by the fact that nobody selling these rigs seems to have any idea what they have, either.

Help?

This isn't an answer to your question, but here's a link to a great reference guide when looking at what's changed on 100s from year to year (scroll down a little to see the year by year breakdown):

If you see the controls on the center console like on the top left hand corner of this picture you have it

Awesome. Thanks. That helps me know what to look for in the pics.

I've probably read the SLEE guide a hundred times and have been reading casually through the 100 forum for months. I love my 80 and it's built up pretty much exactly like I want. It's perfect for everything I do with it, but it is just getting old and tired. The engine is burning oil badly, is starting to lose power, the seats are shot, and the list of little things I need to fix is a mile long. Just can't decide if I should fix it and have the perfect 80 for me, or if it's time to move on to something else.
