My bro's 2000 LX is having issues with the AHC system. It's stuck on low. Perhaps just a sensor or two, OR perhaps something more major. He took it to Toyota there, but as usual, they don't know what they're doing. It likely would have rang up a $3-400 bill just to point out that the system is shot.

Anyway, he's looking for a reputable shop in the area (vicinity) that knows their stuff with LX's/LC's. Any ideas?

BTW, if this is just a sensor issue, what could I tell him to check (or how to service) first?

All replies greatly appreciated!

Well, it's my brother's vehicle, and I haven't looked at it personally, but I believe all 4 corners are down, and it won't rise to level, or high mode. What to look for in a visual though?

Anyone?

Local Toyota dealer is no good. Do not let them work on your LX. I just replaced my AHC pump myself and it wasn't too bad. You need to give us more information on how the vehicle is behaving. Any flashing lights? What happens when he tries to raise it?

There is a guy in Bozeman who is reputable for mechanical work, but I am not sure whether he would deal with the AHC diagnosis as it can be cumbersome and require scanning tools. Miles SHeets "The Toyota Shop" at 406-585-8262.

Hey, thanks for the info, I'll ask my bro about all the details and repost. In the meantime, I'll have him contact your guy there. Hopefully we can get this figured out.
