I am having some ahc issues. Twice in the last month, the rear end of my 06LX dropped. I tried leveling it by pushing the high setting, but the light just blinked and nothing happened. When i got in it the next morning, all was fine.

The research suggests that this may be the rear ahc sensor. I would like to get some opinions before i drop $300 clams.

Thanks in advance.

I have a 2006. When I replaced the rear springs it had approximately 45,000 miles on it. The Land Cruiser had reached a point where any amount of weight in the rear put the car into low mode. My guess is that your springs are worn out and you need to purchase new springs to go in the rear.

I replace the springs, and added 30 mm spacer. I currently have 200 pound sliders and 80 pound roof rack, I've loaded the car with an additional 800 pounds of gear for an expedition trip and the LC stays in high mode when I'm off roading and does not so much is going to normal mode much less low mode.

If you have not replaced the springs yet, that should be the first item to replace and sounds like it's the problem.

I replaced my rear coils yesterday and apparently have other issues going on... Still riding rough in the back so it really can only be the actuators at this point. I'm ordering standard coils and T-bars to make the conversion to a standard setup.

If anyone on here is interested in buying some AHC coils from me and saving a little money over new, these have about 5 miles in them right now. They'll be available as soon as I get my setup in and make the switch. I don't expect I'll have any more than 100 miles on them by the time I make the switch. Let me know if anyone is interested.

For the pair... And as I said, probably be a couple weeks before they are available.

Thanks, keep me in mind when available. I'm traveling east at the end of May and could possibly pick up. What year is your LX so I can check part numbers? I have a 98 with original springs, so I'm sure they could be replaced.

My LX is a 2000, but I got the springs from a toyota dealer...don't remember the P/N off hand but they are for a 2006 AHC equipped LC.

The new springs appeared to be no different than the old ones I took off other than being a bit taller, which I'm sure is b/c the old ones were 14 yrs old.

Went thru some of the same- was rear sensor issue.

Unplug yours- see if the arm attached moves freely; if so then good/ if not then there is your issue.
The arm on mine was super stiff, replaced with a new one & arm moved super easy.

Sounds like my issues; replaced mine a few weeks ago & no issues since!

Rustydrummer,
Can you put me in line after TXLX100 if he decides not to take the coils? We are in the same boat, fixing the ride on a 2000 LX470. 4, 6, then finally 8 cranks total on the front torsion bars softened up the front end. Now I would like to put new coils on the back before I do the swap to LC bars and coils. Baby steps.

I will do that. Thank you for the insight.

I made the conversion today, the AHC springs are sitting in my garage ready to go if you still want them. I'd say I put less than 25 miles on them before I switched them out.

Got rustydrummer's springs on today, my old ones were about 2" shorter. Bump for rusty drummer as a good member, gave me a good price and shipped the items quick and as promised.

TXLX100,
How is the ride at the back after the spring install?
