just looked at an lx. i tested the ahc while parked on a hill and it made a some clunking/clanking noises front and rear as i raised and lowered it. tried again on level ground and on three tries heard a quieter version of the noise once.

owner says it has always done it on hills. vehicle has low miles and is well maintained.

is this normal or a problem?

Mine is silent. 112k miles.

ahc on the GX has always been silent except for the pump running

vehicle has 50k miles so i would be surprised at a worn bushing.

it does, however, have front end alignment issues as the tires are scrubbed nearly bald on the outside. the steering is also looser/floatier than others i have tried with a slight pull, although that could be the tires.

My lx has 173k on it and the ahc is quiet. It seems to take a long time though - how long is it supposed to take?

I think the number of ticks from high to low is around 10 instead of the ideal 7. Dunno if that means it's headed toward "just replace it with conventional lift" or whether meticulous maintenance will get it back.

Number of graduations on the reservoir is better the higher it is. 10 is not high. 7 is minimum - and you can have flat spheres even with 7. New spheres give you at least 14.
And yes, the ahc is pretty slow. 15 sec from N to H is spec.
All this is with heights and pressures according to specs.

Yup, thanks uHu - that gives me extra hope!

Pondering how much preemptive replacement to do vs outright conversion vs just hang in there til the 06 100s come down to under 20k :-)
