Question. I've been on OME nitrochargers 2.5-3" for some time and I'll probably need to replace them pretty soon. My question is whether there is a more comfortable twin-tube kit out there for on-road feels. I don't do any serious off-roading, so I'm not really looking into any special kits like bypass or external reservoirs. I've heard good things about Dobinsons, but I wanted to ask on your thoughts on the various other brands that offer twin-tube setups. I will be also changing my tires from E-load to C-load, so that'll definitely help comfort as well. Thanks!

Dobinsons IMS and MRR are both great options at different price points but if you’re not off roading much and looking for better on road feel/handling I would suggest Bilstein 6112/5160.

Yeah, the IMS was my first inclination, but I'm wondering if I'd be spending more than I'd need. Do you ride the Bilsteins yourself?

Go Bilstein's. They're the value king and punch way above their price. Dobinson's IMS/MRR are not very good from what I hear.

I like my bilsteins (6112/5160). Great on road handling. But sometimes the small bumps or road imperfections can be a little more stiff feeling (nature of a digressive shock). I plan to try dobs IMS next go around. Contrary to above I've heard great things about them for the 200 platform. I've heard mixed bag for other platforms. I suspect it's due to the IMS shocks use a different diameter for different platforms. The 2.6" diameter (that the 200 series gets) being vastly superior to the 2.2" that some other platforms get.

That's very similar to what I've been able to surmise from the forums. What perch did you set them at? I know i had Bilteins on my Fj Cruiser and I went to a lower perch which helped with the ride stiffness over road imperfections. Also, I have 285/75/17 tires, so it'd be helpful to compare where you're at for 35s.

I'd agree. On my old montero lowering a perch yielded a little more comfort as well. I'm currently on perch 4 and in most pictures I've posted on here I just did the standard load springs with a 15mm spacer on the driver side.
