Been searching and looking around, but can’t seem to find links or anyone with experience with the current aftermarket tail light options.
The ones I’m finding right now are SPPC on amazon at $210. Another are the 200 series look on eBay for $500. I found a thread for those, but whew, $500...
Two good reviews on the amazon ones, just looking for anyone that has had them to get some feedback.
Edit. Just priced a new OEM outer housing, only $110. Probably just going that route unless I can find one off a parts rig. Just need to figure out comparability. Mines an 05 so 02-05 only right and LX ones are slightly different?
Depends on the look you want to achieve. I think its something you should expect to spend at least $200+ for something that fits well, has good weatherstripping, won't fog up or leak.
I bought these Spyder Taillights from 21 Motorsports via google shopping -- it was $270. I'm seeing them for $250-300:
Its a very easy swap -- remove the housing via two screws on inner wall of tailgate -- pull the old bulbs saving the yellows. The orientation of the lights is just slightly different than stock. The LED wiring connects right into where the female connection where the bulb was. As for orientation I think the top two positions are swapped, and the third one(bottom) stays the same - yellow bulb(blinker). The manual has a layout of the bulbs. You'll see the top position on the Spyders is brake light, middle position is reverse/backup lights, and the bottom position is blinkers(hence the yellow). Check the light is working before you screw the housing back in. LED connections need to be connected with a proper polarity or it may not light up. If it is dark, unplug and flip the lead.
I also did headlight swap -- plenty of aftermarket lights -- just expect to spend 350-400 for housing for use with existing halogen. and upwards of $600 if you want projector lens HID. Over $800-1000 for Projectors with Halos and Gliding Turn signals. Its a bit much. I went with these from the Aussies, fit and finish are fantastic. Took a little tweaking to get a good angle of light, but can use existing halogens for simplicity. IMO worth the $440 AUD - $330 USD shipped. One important note is to consider Left Hand Drive(LHD) vs Right Hand Drive(RHD) if your headlights are coming from overseas. Headlights are angled differently depending on which side of the road people drive.
Other options are retrofitting projector lenses to your existing lights which is well documented on MUD or HID kits. Lots of options, just depends on what you're willing to spend.
