I am trying to find a 16 pin stereo wiring harness adapter that goes to the amplifier output to the speaker. I try BestBuy and Circuit city to not avail. Is there another method without choping the OEM harness? Does anybody know where to find the adapter?

Here is the connector I need

Did you try Crutchfield.com?

I tried crutchfield, onlinecarstereo.com, scoshe.com, metra, cardomain, autotoys etc. It looks like I have to splice and solder the OEM harness.

Thanks

Auggie look at the connecter and tell me the # printed on it (its really tiiny) ill look in my box of toy connecters

you need the female side right ?

Evan

(((( funny the conecter is the same one used on the diff lock ecu ))) anyhooo just let me know

Have you tried looking at the lexus connector? The land cruiser came with Lexus stereo hookups

only one in the shop right now is a 99 lx w/o nav ,,, nakamechi system and it does not have a 16 pin connecter on the amp

Evan,

I could not find the number on the connector. Would I have to disassemble the amp to get the number?

The pic you posted is from the ewd, that is the male portion that goes into the amp,
Which side do you need
1/ are you trying to use the stock amp and come out of it to your own harness/speaker combo-----if so you need the male side -------i have some of thoes----
2/ are you trying to eliminate the stock amp and use the factory speaker harness by pluging the stock male side into your newley fashoned non-oem amp via the female connecter------if so i will dig in the box-o-connecters and find the match for the male i have -------------
3/ in the event that said parts are not avail it is possible to use a male and female matching set that have the 16 pins you need and with patience/ewd and swich the connecters over ((( the pins have a service lock tab to remove and replace them))) and gain the end result you need <uppon sale of truck you would need to reverse the process to go back to stock >>>

i have boxes of old connecters that i have cut off all the replacement harnesses that i have fiddled with over all the years

Evan

I am trying to eliminate the stock amp and install a head unit with internal power unit. I am going to install a separate 2 CH amp to power the useless subwoofer with updated 4" woofer. That all still could change if I am not willing to cut / splice the OEM harness.
