I'm going to be making a trip to the states in a couple weeks and am planning to purchase a set of springs for me 91 FJ70 (swb). My objectives are about as far away from rock crawling on the usage spectrum as possible, in fact there are no rocks where I live . What we do have are roads which resemble motocross tracks more than anything, which btw I wish to traverse as rapidly as possible with a semblance of gracefulness. So I'm not looking for height perse, but a very supple, plush and responsive suspension which can soak up small and larger bumps at speed. I plan to use some good adjustable shocks with the new system but have not decided which ones as of yet. Probably too expensive for me but I suppose coil overs would be best???? Most people's needs differ from mine, but would appreciate any help on this.

Thanks!

A simple OME setup would work fine for you.

Don't those come in soft medium and firm? Was wondering about parabolics...... I saw about a 3 ton new Renault truck the other day in for service and it had two leaf springs in a parabolic configuration, one BIG locator spring and and even larger second spring about half the length, it was perfectly flat. I'm soooo particular about ride quality... i want to get this right the first time around.

Btw, the ride on this FJ70 is way better than my old FJ40, are the springs any longer???
