After 5000km one oil level reduced one liter

My question is it a normal for fjz80 95lc? should i worry about. some say it is normal specially in hot weather area like Austrila and arabs deserts . where oil will snake out to lubracate the cylinders. My oil is BP 2000

It depends on if you have used this oil for a long time in this engine and you got more miles out of the oil before adding or this is a new truck to you and you are doing a base line type of question. But yes a liter in 5000k could be considered normal. It becomes abnormal when you loose a litr in 1000k miles. So you may want to include more information about where you are and if this truck is new to you, how many miles on the engine, ETC. with more information you better informed information from the people you are asking this from. later robbie

WHat weight oil do you use? Do you use the right weight oil that the motor calls for?
Does the oil consumption happen at high rpm's?
How far is a KM and a liter is what pop comes in
You may want to try a different brand of oil.
I have major consumption at high rpms with Mobil 1 0w40 syn oil.
I have no high rpm oil consumption with RotellaT 5w40 syn oil.
I do use oil, 1 qt per 3000mi and I have 258,000+ mi on the motor.
