Recently got back from Kenya, had ample time to chat with the locals about vehicles. Most revealing was their near worship of the landcruiser in all its iterations. The prado is respected, "only the political class drive prados," and the 300 series is reserved for basically the most wealthy and upper echelons of the government. "The LX600 is what President Ruto drives around in."

Not a man doubted the ability of a 200 or 300 series to handle the Masai Mara or Serengeti, with nothing but an 70,80,100,200, or 300 trusted to bang around in the wilderness and still get you safely back home.

Definitely put a polish on my attitude towards my Lx600. These vehicles are the product of decades of earned reputation for durability, comfort, and refined driving on anything resembling a road. Privileged to drive such an awesome vehicle.

Amazing!

Glad to hear it… those people know best. They make the most out of nothing and always push all their gear and equipment to the limit.

Check out worlds most dangerous roads on free documentary on YouTube… that show is nothing but land cruisers and LXs most of the time.

Have traveled some very rough roads and trails in Eurasia in LC200, 100, 105, and LX570s. Those are your go to, or Urals (they tag along occasionally just fine). Not a lot of other choices, maybe a Raptor or Prado 🤷🏼‍♂️

Surprisingly from what I have been told the 300 hasn’t earned its keep yet but the 600 is pretty desirable.
