Hi all, my mechanic is just getting into going through the drivetrain of the 1995/6 Omani troopy to see what needs to be done and to address a horrible, intermittant 'spinning bearing' sound at 50 kph and above.
I'm hoping to get some practical advice from the group here as to what I need to worry about. I trust my mechanics, but I'd also like to be better informed as to the knock on effects of the damage we are seeing.
The spline and therefor the shaft are obviously toast, but what else should I insist that my mechanics do while they are dealing with this? What parts should I insist they replace? And what could have caused it? I've never seen this before.
This is I asked if I could take this photo. By now they know I'm kind of oddly interested--I don't think all that many of their customers are.
