My '99 LX has about 121K on it, I've just been too busy to set aside what I hope will only take one full weekend to do the 120K Service plus maybe a few other items.

One issue that first happened wheeling the other day, I was going up a steep incline and at some point the engine died during the ascent or perhaps when I stopped making forward progress (guess I need some air lockers). I'm not sure exactly when it cut out but it happened on two separate occasions. I'm a little concerned. Any ideas on this?

These are the things I'm planning on doing as far as the 120k. I'd like to get to the bottom of the engine cutting out at the same time.

Physical
- AHC Fluid
- AC Filter
- Brake Fluid
- Spark Plugs
- Lube DS, torque bolts
- Lube front axle shaft bushings (Saw recent thread, will order Slee tool)
- Repack Front Wheel bearings
- Change Diff Oil
- Change TC Oil
- Clean MAF & TB
- Trans Fluid
Check

- Check Fuel System
- Inspect Belts
- Inspect R&P Steering (How?)
- Inspect Charcoal Canister????
- Inspect Valve Clearance
- Inspect Steering Linkage and Boots
- Inspect Axle Shaft Boots
- Inspect Ball Joints and Dust Covers (What?)

My 80 used to cut out on steep inclines when I lost traction and rolled back. Installed a rear locker and it never happened again.

Not sure if the 100 reacts the same...

As for the above maintenance, change your fluids, filters and plugs. Buy some chevron fuel injector cleaner and call it a day.

One of your recent pics looked like UTD parking? Taking my grad work there now. :-)

Where are you wheeling around dfw?

Why would that be? I'm not doubting but I don't understand how stopping the rear axle would stall the engine.

I would love to not be so OCD but I'm gonna have to at least take a look at everything and repack the bearings after all the water and mud.

Yeah that's definitely the parking lot in front of SOM...you doing business grad? I mostly wheel at friends ranches on the weekends but also out at Bridgeport OHV, I'm kinda limited out there especially since I don't really know anybody who I trust to spot me...

Where do you wheel your hundy?

I would save the wheel bearing repack for a brake change. It doesn't make sense to do these jobs separately...

Yep, I am working on masters in systems eng.

Getting ready to wheel at two big events-
LSLC Roundup 3/15-3/18
Jamboree 4/19-4/22
You should come out
