Hey everyone, recently picked up a 72 fj40. The PO gave me some newer style doors. I need to find a good paint shop that can prep and paint these bad boys so I can make half doors out of the original ones.

Prefer to stick close to Mt P area if possible.

fender mender

i have never dealt with them personally, but i hear the fender mender in mt p does very good work. not sure on price.

Just curious, why not use the stock full doors and make half doors out of the newer style doors? It would keep your rig looking year correct.

That was my initial thought, but the stock ones aren't in great shape. The window channels are rusting, the window is missing in the driver door and the crank for the window doesn't work either.

I figure it would be easier this way. I like the look of the stock doors better, and plan on using the half doors for 8 months out of the year.

See if McClarys is still there by Shem Creek.I think the Old man retired, but he didn't do much of the work anyway. I think one of the employees bought it.

I've been thinking all day about this and I think I do want the 72 doors to stay w/ my hardtop. I have the piece of glass for the missing window.

I need complete new channel felt and weather stripping. I heard the weather stripping can be a pain to install. Anyone have recommendations? I also need the window crank for the driver's door. Not sure if someone has a parts cruiser. I see they're for sale at CCOT.

I've got a set of rusted doors here if you want to see if what you need is there.
I'm off Rifle Range Road.
