El Cid - I had the same thought. That issue only occurs in the first 6 seconds of tur I g the vehicle on. If you don't move then the sensor is less likely to see the tilt and not deploy.

From my perspective, I would look at the issue more as a negotiating opportunity to get a good land cruiser than I would be in fear of the fix.

If you want to bid, you will put pressure on the seller to fix the problem by making a lowball offer. That will either motivate them to fix it or motivate them to sell it. Either is to your benefit.

That's great. Because in my neighborhood you'll see at least one rover vehicle on the side of the road about every two weeks.

Throttle issues, steering column motors, transmission problems., you will need all the parts help you can get..

That's with newer ones, older ones are cheap and easy to keep going if you're a DIY, if you have to pay to have everything done then you're screwed.

I came here from the Rover world. I needed a newer safer SUV. I was only considering Range Rovers in the '07-'09 age group. Found my LC by accident. I do not have buyers remorse.

I got more info from the sales manager. Apparently the used car salesman is a liar (surprise). The vehicle was sold Wednesday to a buyer in New Jersey.

It was a white 2006 lx470 with 80k miles that they had originally listed for 21,999 at fox Acura in El Paso.

Completely bummed, but at least the recal thing is a lie apparently.

let it serve as a reminder to all of us that the world of automotive dealers is suspect.
Unfortunately, it seems everyone has a bad dealer story, we've just become accustomed to it.

Sorry to hear ab that, I wouldn't give up the fight..

It could be that the dealership did not want to be exposed to liability because of a safety defect.
I experienced the same thing in that the Lexus dealership would not sell me a 2006 LX with 91K miles
because of this safety recall. Perhaps that dealership was able to escape potential liability by
wholesaling that LX ?????

I just purchased a 2006 LC on Saturday from a Lexus dealership with 107k miles on it. I had to sign a waiver that I understood that there was a recall and that a solution from Toyota was in place with an estimated fix in September 2016.

I would sign that waiver too. Your 2006 LC has gone 10 years without the side air bag accidentally deploying.
Most likely just a nit picking issue anyway.

I'm continuing my hunt. Thinking about taking up the sales managers offer to work with me picking one up at a dealer auction.

Can't hurt.

It's a negotiation game. The faster you can transact and the more liquid you are, the better your chances.

I had the money ready, I just couldn't get up to El Paso the night I found it (had to wait 4 days due to a work obligation)

I'm keeping on the hunt, Looking forward to wheeling with my son not too.
