I need to change the fuel pump on my Land Cruiser because it has started to leak profusely (sp). I was wondering whether or not it would be beneficial to replace it with an electronic fuel pump. Anyone?

no advantage IMOP, keep the mechanical pump. Carter has an OEM pump in a Carter box for $50, most parts stores can get it or have it on the shelf.

I have a spare fuel pump, but while I had it out, I wasn't sure if I should 'upgrade' or not. Thanks for the advice!

I personally know of one totally rust free hyper clean 40 that was burned to the ground because of an electric fuel pump. guys' mom was out driving it on the ranch, snagged a low hanging piece of tubing on some brush, somehow fire flashed...she jumped out and walked away without turning off the ignition....sat there and pumped fuel into the fire until the wire burned through...I bought the remains...truly sad!

I'm sorry to hear that!! I can definately say that I will not be buying an electric fuel pump. Thanks!

They are not that bad. MOST trucks have them now. However, for a stock setup, they are not needed and not an upgrade.
