I have a 2006 LC with ahc suspension. The front measures at about 19.5 inch from the hub and the rear is around 21 inches. I wanted to post to get some advice on how to properly adjust the torsion bars.

Should I lift the car and used Jack stands and to the weight off the front tires to heighten the front? Or should the adjustment be done with the weight on the front tires? Also, is it a simple matter of tightening the torsion bar bolt in order to lift the car and loosen it to lower the car?

Lastly, I've read nine turns gets you about a three-quarter inch lift, can anyone confirm this?

Thanks in advance for your help.

If you want to raise the front on an AHC equipped truck, in addition to cranking the torsion bars, you also have to adjust the height sensors or the truck will settle back to where it was automatically with the AHC. As well you should check neutral pressure of the AHC up front to make sure it rides right after your adjustments.

There are several threads on here with more detailed info than I gave for this procedure.

Are you getting rid of the rake for functional reasons, or looks? The rake is there to help drivability.

Thanks for the feedback, I'm not sure which rake you are referring to?

He's referring to the fact that the rear of the truck is higher than the front. Many on the board talk about this differential as the "rake".

The rake is pretty much "standard" and the differential varies depending on your suspension (conventional vs. AHC, stock vs. OME,etc.) and setup.

Got it, thanks for the input.
