The FSM say you need to set the red cap, aprox 1mm from the Nut .. mmm I'm not sure if this function in all cases . I thought my shifter points are ok sometimes ( I still thinking in somethisn as cold start setup . ? ) but always to harhs ..

So I continue the test this week .. if someone with 1HD-T and 442 can take a pic of your throtle cable position would be great ..

Also I take pics of 70 series motor mount and 1HZ engine .. that gonna be swap into FZJ-80 these weekend ..

I think we have the same 1hd-T engine. Mine is in a '92 HDJ80 w/ an A440 tranny. When I got my rig it flared badly , asking around and reading forums and a lot of tweaking somehow eliminated the flaring problem.
From your picture of the kickdown cable it seems that the crimped marker is a bit too far from the red rubber dust protector thingy. From what I've read and done, the distance should be around 0.5 mm to 1.5 mm. Fine tuning is a different matter requiring very small adjustments and testing to get the desired result. Hope this helps and good luck!

Interesting stuff .. !

" The TPS for your diesel is a little black box that
sits above the injection pump where the throttle
linkage goes into the pump, and it senses where the
throttle is and feeds that back to the computer
running the box.
Now it has some hold down screws that when loose allow
it to turn, and if you turn it thesame way as your
throttle goes when you back off, you will get kickdown
earlier...or it should improve your situation. "
