I have 1985 FJ-60 without factory AC. I purchased a used factory AC system out of another 1985 FJ-60 from fellow LC owner Stumper. Heres the deal, everyting in the cabin dropped in beautifully minus punching some holes throught the firewall for the lines. The problem is my rebuilt 2F does not seem to have the provisions (screw holes) to mount the bracket for the compressor. Secondly, the Factory Repair manual does not even address the 2F compressor setup or the belt config??? Any ideas on why those threaded holes are not on the block? What is the belt configuration? Any help would be much appreciated! Thanks

I just came in from the garage where I'm working on the same project. I picked up the bracketry from cruiserparts.net and I'm trying to lay it all out. It took me two cans of brake cleaner just to find the parts in the blobs of grease cruiserparts sent me. Looks like the main A/C bracket replaces the passenger side motor mount. I haven't got the tensioner figured out yet though. Could one of you OEM A/C guys post a picture? It would make things much easier.

msummer, if that is the case let me know, because the guy who sent me the AC system sent it with the Alternator bracket!!! He is currently sending me the correct bracket. Any ideas on the belt config ? Good luck, John

I found this searching around. It has the belt layout.

My 60 was already converted to AC, but it was a hackjob using a 2 groove crankpulley. I had a welded up cast aluminum bracket that held the AC on top with the alternator slung below. That bracket snapped going down the highway and took out 60% of my fan blades.

I'm now converting to the 3 groove crank pulley with OEM brackets (they are much stronger).

Stock AC unit mounts the Comressor to the PS engine mount.

I have a spare if you are interested.

Mace, if I don't recieve the bracket from Stumper, I may be giving you a call, does anyone have a photo of the comressor installed on the PS engine mount?

Hey guys, don't forget to swap out the fan relay to the A/C one as that's what powers the whole system.
The correct fan relay for A/C is a square one not the smaller round one. You need to connect the white/brown wire to the terminal on the side of the relay.
Easy to miss this!

Thanks for all the info. I think I will need to put a triple pulley on the crank and from there I'll put the compressor in.
