Hi Everyone, Summar is here and my AC is not working as it should.
The High Side Schrader valve is leaking badly.

Does anybody know of a place that can rent an AC Vacuum Pump in Edmonton, AB area.

I have the hoses and gauges to do a charge.

Would like to pull some vacuum as well on the system after i have it opened up for the schrader valve replacement.
Thanks Everyone,
Ali.

Do you have R12 in there or something else?

Any remaining refrigerant will have to be properly recovered and it's going to be easiest to just take it to a shop to do that. If you have a R12 analogue in there, then that may present problems with recovery as any shop won't want to mix it with their R12 or R134a.

Depending on what you're going to put back in to it, you may not want a hard vacuum when it comes time to refilling the system. Some of the R12 analogues do get refilled in to a hard vacuum, you can fill into a system that is 'sealed' but otherwise has leaked down to close to zero pressure.

I've use the Duracool type products with excellent success on systems that were originally filled with R12, but you do have to be a bit cautious with the lubricating oils and how the system has been sealed etc.

Hope this helps.
