Hello all! First time poster, long time reader. Thanks to everyone's advice over the years helping to keep my old girl rolling, but I was hoping to seek your thoughts on a topic I have yet to find covered. I'm becoming desperate as the Lexus parts department is unable to assist. The PO of my '03 GX must've had the AC lines capped to delete the rear AC. The caps are no longer present so I was hoping to make the system whole again by replacing with new lines. Both lines (suction and liquid) were cut at the junction where the lines coming off firewall, "Pipe, cooler refrigerant A" (liquid and suction), dive down passenger front wheel well and connect to intermediate lines, "Pipe, cooler refrigerant liquid C, and suction D," which run back toward rear evaporator thus requiring all 4 to be replaced. I purchased new lines from Lexus, cross referenced with my VIN as follows:
Unfortunately, the lines do not match and can't connect at junction where bolt and AC port align. As I'm trying to show in pic below (sorry the red circle moves on image upload), you can see that the bore to accept bolt is on wrong side and matches up to AC orifice opening (which is capped on both lines with white plastic tab) on other liquid line (Liquid C), and vice versa. Lexus assures me that they are the proper part numbers which I also verified online. Has anyone encountered this before or have any suggestions. My truck is an early (March) '03 model and I'm not sure if that factors into it. Apologies for the long post but it's difficult to get across in writing. Thanks in advance for your time and advice.
