I recently purchased my FJ60 and took it to get a new tune up. Put some money into it to get it running strong. The previous owner had a brand new AC compressor installed right before I bought it. AC was surprisingly very cold! I was cruising around today with the AC blowing pretty good (had my dog with me) then it randomly just shut off. Even the little AC button doesn't light up. I checked the fuse and it's good. I tried doing some research on here, could only find that it may be a blower relay? Just curious if I can fix this myself with little effort or needs to be taken to my mechanic.
Thanks!
I'm in the Phoenix area. (Peoria to be exact)

By randomly shut off do you mean the ac was blowing hot or the blower motor was stopping?

It was blowing cold then just completely shut off all together. Doesn't turn on at all to my knowledge.

FJ60 AC/Heater Blower

Look for this in your fuse box, and follow the above.

Sounds more like a electrical problem which is a good thing. Easier/cheaper then dealing with the refrigerant side of the A/C. Especially if you still have R12 refrigerant. If you can reset your breaker and it works again try running the just the blower on high. If it trips again you know your problem is in the blower or related wiring. If it holds turn the A/C and see if it trips. If it does trip try and feel the dash switch, and as much wiring as you can for hot spots. Any spot with higher then normal resistance will raise the amp draw and heat up. The blower motor is dragging it can also cause the breaker to trip. Year ago I had a Ford van that the blower just stopped working. When I pulled the switch out of the dash the wiring harness connected to the switch had split open like a over cooked hot dog. It didn't blow a fuse or trip a breaker. Scared me as I could have had a electrical fire while driving.
