I'm finishing my swap and need to mount the AC evaporator. Does it have to be mounted a certain distance from the condenser? Or can it be placed any where in that line? I'm looking at mounting options as the old mounting space is occupied with the inter-cooler tubes. I've got to make new lines anyway, so I want to see what options are available.

Thanks

Doug

Doug .

Evap is inside cabin area , condenser is outside infront of rad and behind intercooler (Normally ) ..

Line length is not crucial , but size is within reason , changing a few feet / meter wont make any difference in the length to size.
If you were to add 10 meters , then as in wiring rules longer distance needs larger dia of wire , due to voltage drops , And in gases , volume decreases with longer lenghts, so the pipe / tube needs to be larger for a longer distance.

BUT a small increase in length will be just fine, it will need a more gas though ,small amount of extra gas to fill the increased area, very little , say a few more gramms to take up the extra space.

New hoses that are just for AC and have internal lining are the best..Plus it is always good to keep the hoses bent smoothly for less restriction in flow..

I misspoke, the part is the receiver. The round bottle with two fittings and the sight glass on top.

I had to relocate it and wanted to know if it had to be a certain distance from the condenser. I found the info in my manual. It had a 70 with the receiver in same place I wanted to put mine.

Thanks,

Doug

Dryer / Receiver is after the condenser and before the evap expansion valve , as in distance , closer to the condenser than the evap is the best.

Gives the liquid a time to settle before the expansion , and other things.
