So I had the timing belt, water pump, all front-engine tensioners, pulleys, belts, t-stat, heater Ts and steering rack replaced with OEM at 175K miles.

On the drive from Kansas to Georgia, post-Christmas and immediately after the work...the AC stopped working (blinking AC light).

Is there any "obvious culprit" connected to the maintenance work that might be the cause...or am I looking at an expensive coincidence?

You know you know.

Any ideas?

Put in a new fuse

Thanks! It's a start, and the first thing I checked. Fuse appears to be okay. Is there a thought to replace it anyway, even if not "blown" to the eye?

I changed mine and it did not change anything, switched on the rear air started driving and within 20 minutes everything was back to normal. That was almost 2 years ago. No problems since. Strange right.

You have to take off the a/c braket to get the timing belt off. Can you see the pulley? ( half way down on the drivers side) I have three theories and I don't know how likely any of them are.

1) I don't remember if there is a way to put tension on the compressor pulley but if so they may have not put enough tension on it.

2) They may have crimped or broken a line while moving the compressor.

3)I'm pretty sure the cam sensor and a/c clutch wires are on the same bundle over there. You have to pull all the plugs to get enough slack to remove some of the cam cover. I would check and make sure everything is all plugged up.

You can barely see the plug in the top corner of this picture.

Check the how to section there are a few timing belt threads. I think you will see what I'm talking about.

So, as mentioned above, the shop that did the timing belt and water pump failed to reconnect the AC compressor.

All good now!
