so I noticed some chatter coming from the ac system, pop the hood and see the ac clutch spinning and moving front to back...
so i ask...is it rebuildable or toast?... and does anyone have one? or the means to collect the freon before it craps out..it currently still works...its a 92 so i think its r-12....any help out there?

i believe it may just be the clutch from you description which is replaceable/rebuildable without evacuating the freon in the system. And yes a 92 shyould be r-12

thanx Jason

thanx.. i saw that , but wonder if i can replace the clutch with the compressor in place

yes, you can. I unbolted my clutch pulley assy and swapped with a junkyard one a few summers back.

so I get a new clutch assy...bust my knuckles just to find that the compressor nose is shot....so i bust my knuckes again to put it all back together...AC still works, but i wonder how long it will last.....

I got a compressor for a 3FE that I got to reinstall all of my AC stuff.... right now though I need shocks more than anything else so i'd part with it and just get another one later. PM me for a price.
