AC causes my 93 to IDLE wild

I used my AC yesterday going to Carlsbad and noticed that the RPMs idle around 1000 - 1200 RPM while in drive, but in park it races all the way to 1600 RPM . Normally without the AC I'm situated around 600 -800 RPM.

Do I have some sort of AC clutch problem.

I'm totally lost on where to start on this one?

Hi.
Mine did that also, till I claened all the crud out of the Throttle Body But I had really poor idle first off, Now all is great, it idles about 1000RPM in park with the AC on.

Funny that you mentioned crud and throttle body, I'm also battling the same problems that you've just mentioned. It has to be a dirty TB.
